Pastoral Visits from the Elders

Florian is also trying to arrange for members of the church to receive their regular pastoral visits from one of the elders. If you have a particular time in mind please approach him.

1. WPTS Podcast – Communicating The Glory

The WPTS Seminary’s podcast is now available from their website here, or is searchable within most 3rd party pod-casting apps i.e: i-tunes, sticher, soundcloud etc. The Seminary hopes that this podcast will be of use to God’s people in explaining some fundamental theological principles and in raising awareness of the seminary further afield.

2. EPCEW Conference – Friday 27th & Saturday 28th January

Location: Durham Presbyterian Church
The EPCEW conference will be hosted at DPC this year offering us an easy opportunity to attend and build relationships with those from other churches within the presbytery. Packed lunch will be enjoyed together from 11:30 till 13:00 on the Friday at which time the conference-proper will open. For those only able to attend on the Saturday this will open at 9:00 and will close with a lunch provided by DPC. If you would like more details please ask Jonathan or Bill or visit the EPCEW Conference page, here.

3. Church Holiday – Thursday 13th – Saturday 15th April 2017

4. Ancient Church History Recordings

The recent intensive ancient church history course delivered by Revd Dr Ian Hamilton is now available on the WPTS website.

5. Edwards Conference Recordings

We are thankful to God for his answered prayers regarding the recent Edwards Conference. Any who were not able to make the conference itself or who wish to listen again to any of the papers or times of worship will find them uploaded and freely available on the Edwards Conference Website – here.

6. Hospitality rotas

A new hospitality rota has been put out on the book table and is available online. Please do sign up to open your home for lunch, or to provide tea and coffee after the service. If your home won’t accommodate everyone, and you would like to offer hospitality on a smaller scale, then just let Pam know; she can arrange for two families to host simultaneously on some occasions.

7. Book Table

Please help yourselves to anything on the book table.

Every month we have the opportunity to meet for a special prayer meeting.

Meetings for United Prayer
Once per quarter, we do so as part of the larger group of confessional churches in the northeast (and there are a number of similar prayer meetings at other locations in the north of England).  These “Meetings for United Prayer” are hosted by Elswick Parish Church in Newcastle at 10:00 on a Saturday.
Reformation and Revival Prayer Meeting
On the months in which there is no meeting at Elswick, our church holds its own “Reformation and Revival” prayer meeting at the ministers home, also on a Saturday (usually the second Saturday of the month) at 10:00 am.

Evangelistic opportunities include the following:
1.  Evangelistic literature and postcards

Evangelistic literature and postcards with our church details on are on the book table for us to distribute to family, friends and neighbours, and especially our local community here in Lobley Hill. We need those who will go from house to house, and also those who will be willing to pray while others go out. In the new year there will be new invitation cards to build on the work done already in December.

2. Safe Families for Children

A sign-up sheet is on the book table for those willing to help with this worthwhile project (see
